Carl Maria von Weber spent the summer months of 1818, 1819 and 1822 to 1824 in the Hosterwitz winegrower's house, which today houses the museum dedicated to him. Weber loved the place surrounded by idyllic nature and the peace and quiet he needed to compose. Many of his compositions were written here, including the opera "Euryanthe". Built around 1665 as a simple half-timbered house, the building is now one of the oldest preserved residential buildings in the city of Dresden.
The building, which has been used as a museum since 1957, is being restored in line with its listed status. we need your help for the extensive renovation and redesign of the museum. Thank you for your support!
