Romantic opera as table theatre

Table theatre has a long tradition that stretches back to late romantic salons and the living rooms of the Biedermeier era: in small circles, people played out for entertainment what could otherwise only be experienced on the big opera and theatre stages. "Der Freischütz for young and old" promises such an intimate and romantic experience of a special kind, because on this afternoon it is not only the opera that is romantic, presented by two actors in a sounding mini theatre, but also the setting in which the audience gathers around a table: The venue for the performance is the Carl Maria von Weber Museum in Hosterwitz, the former summer residence of the composer, whose 200th anniversary of death we will be celebrating in 2026. And perhaps the events surrounding Max, Agathe, Kaspar and Samiel, test shots and free balls, will even take place on the table where Weber once composed his "Freischütz"? Let yourself be enchanted by a traditional theatre form with charm!
